In 1933, the notorious gangsters Bonnie & Clyde were holed up in their Joplin garage apartment when two Joplin police officers arrived on the scene.

A gunfight ensued and tragically both police officers lost their lives.

Bonnie & Clyde fled the scene leaving behind a roll of Kodak film that provided the first glimpse of the infamous couple.

They also left behind some costume jewelry, which is on display at the Joplin Museum Complex.

The apartment still stands today in Joplin at 3347-1/2 Oak Ridge Drive.
